At the October Coffee Morning

2nd October 2006

The October Coffee Morning was held on the terrace of the beautiful home of Nini in El Penon which offers spectacular views of Caracas.

Vendors laid out their ware against this backdrop overlooking Caracas and members and non-members alike browsed the beautiful items on sale which this month included lovely Christmas gift ideas on offer by the B.I.G craft group. Most were drawn to the lovely jewellery pieces on display whilst other picked up a few bargains at the second hand book stall. The highlight of the morning however was the mouth-watering display of chocolates by Chocolatier Sander.

Guest speaker was Chocolatier Sander himself who gave an informative narration of the process of chocolate making from the reaping of the cacao through the 36 stages before producing an excellent chocolate.

He certainly captured the attention of the ladies attending and also that of Father Bell of St Mary's Church in San Roman.

Chocolatier Sander is located in ISKIA, Calle Paris in Las Mercedes. chocolatesander@cantv.net

Everyone helped themselves to the delicious pastries and cakes provided along with coffee and tea before mingling and meeting the latest newcomers to Caracas.

The next Coffee Morning will be on Monday 6th November at 9:30 at the home of Sally Evans. Details of location can be had from Karen Mazur .

Be sure to put this date in your diary now.
