B.I.G. July and August Coffee Morning
A few years ago the B.I.G. committee decided to hold summer coffee mornings during the holiday period for those members who were in Caracas at this time.
Quite often B.I.G. members are in town during July and August and enjoy meeting up for a chat!
The July Coffee Morning was held on the terrace of the beautiful home of Nini in El Peñon which offers spectacular views of Caracas.
Although the group was small, it was a very enjoyable morning! Nini has a great knowledge of flower arranging, and showed us how to make a nice piece using a lot of green out of her own garden! She gave also wonderful tips where to buy nice fresh flowers, and how to treat them before putting them in your arrangement.
The August Coffee Morning was held at Helen’s home in Altamira.
The committee was delighted to welcome such a good turnout of new and old members alike for this informal get together.
The craft group were in attendance with a selection of their wonderful craft items. The necklaces were quite stunning and many of members were keen to purchase. The craft group has been meeting regularly during the summer months on a Wednesday morning. All proceeds go to the charities supported by B.I.G. Next month B.I.G. will having their Opening Meeting for the New Season at the British Residence in the Country Club on the 10th September. Members will have the opportunity to renew their annual membership and new members will be able to join. The annual subscription for the year 2007/2008 will be 60.000 Bs and the entrance fee for the coffee mornings will be 10.000 Bs for members and 15.000 Bs for non-members.
