Michele Segura- Coz not only provided her home for this meeting, but also gave a wonderful talk on the beautiful country of France.

We learned a great deal with her descriptions of Paris and its’ most important tourist attractions, historic sites and monuments such as Les Invalides, La Tour Eiffel, Notre Dame, Champs Elysees, Le Louvre, Montmartre, and Versailles.

She gave us valuable information about different regions of France. Normandy, L´Auvergne, Brittany, Perigord, Provence, Alsace, the Riviera, each one so characteristic and so beautiful.

She described the center region of France, consisting of Chateaux de La Loire, comprising of the impressive amount of over 300 castles.

Most interesting was Michele’s explanation of Alienor of Aquitaine, queen of France ánd queen of England. At that time most of the western part of France was British.

The champagne region was explained, a region between the east and the north where our famous Champagne beverage comes from.

Michele described the wonderful French food from the cheeses, the Fois Gras, Dijon mustard, just to name a few. She reminded us of that the French donated the Statue of Liberty to the United States.
From this presentation we can understand why France is the first destination in the world of tourism!
