February Coffee Morning 2009

The February Coffee Morning was held at the beautiful home of Cecilia Mascarenas who kindly hosted this meeting.

Although the B.I.G. AGM had to be postponed until March, due to the unexpected national holiday, this meeting turned out to be a successful get together for those of our members who could make it. We had several vendors, a raffle and also a special collection for Casa Hogar Jose Gregorio in memory of Gertie Paez who passed away so suddenly in December. BsF 1600 was collected this month, and there will be a further opportunity to contribute to this at our March coffee morning.

The following upcoming events were also highlighted:

On February 13th we will have a guided tour to Los Cerritos – Villa Planchart, one of the 10 most beautiful modern houses in the world. This house was built in the fifties by the renowned Italian architect Gio Ponti, and it has been preserved in the original style without alterations whatsoever. Tour cost is BsF 80, and to sign up contact Diana.

Also please mark your calendars for our “ Annual Quiz Night” on March 13th, at St. Mary´s church in San Román. As always, this promises to be a fun and challenging evening with Quiz Master Keith Bailey of the British School. Non-members are welcome and tables are limited, so book early by contacting Charlene!
