Mandy Dobson writes about a new posada she has discovered.......
LOMAS DE CARUAO
A new Posada that will be 2 years old this August!   It is three hours drive from Caracas   via the road to La Guaira, turn right and follow the coast all the way to Los Caracas and on  towards the small town of Caruao.   Surrounded by peace and tranquillity, but for the bird song and the occasional vehicle passing by the Posada is a must to visit.

Lomas de Caruao is a secret, hidden behind high walls, consisting of 6 simple, but well constructed cabanas, set amidst a mango orchard, overlooking the wonderful rugged coastline.   There is plenty of space surrounding the cabanas, with an open air dining room and separate bar area, infinity swimming pool and outdoor jacuzzi.   A short walk down the cliff path reveals two hidden small beaches.

The posada offers a variety of excursions including a trip to an alternative larger beach by small boat, snorkelling, kayaking, surfing, walks up nearby rivers to waterfalls and deep pools for fresh water swimming.

The price includes very good meals of breakfast, lunch, pre dinner snacks, dinner, all national drinks/soft drinks and excursions/activities.   The posada is very popular during the weekend but tends not to be so busy during the week.    Workshops and corporate away days/nights are also a possibility.

For further information call Ceci Baldi in the office in Santa Rosa de Lima commercial centre on 993 1315 or 991 0676 or look at the website:  www.lallanada.com.   All their staff are most helpful and do their utmost to make your stay fun and comfortable.
